HISTORY

In 1992, Robert Martinez created Dos Hermanos. He started the restaurant to
fill the local's need for authentic New Mexican food in Albuquerque's
Northeast Heights. The original restaurant, all 900 square feet, was
initiated near the corner of Candelaria and Wyoming. A small A-frame
building, the 1st store only sat 4 people. In 1993 John Martinez and Sam
Randall assumed the day-to-day operations while Robert relaxed on a near by
golf course. By 1995 Dos Hermanos outgrew its humble beginnings and
relocated into the current location at 2435 Wyoming NE. Word continued to
spread throughout Albuquerque about our great home-made foods and Dos
Hermanos became a local's favorite. Many of our recipes came from Robert's
mother Jessie, who owns and operates La Cocina in Espanola. Dos Hermanos
specializes in a variety of burritos wrapped in the most delicious hand-made
tortillas made fresh daily. Another specialty is our traditionally prepared
tamales; these are quite popular during the holidays, but can be enjoyed year
round. Combine any of Dos Hermanos' menu items with our authentically
prepared locally grown chiles and you've captured the essence of New Mexican
food. In 1998, Dos Hermanos opened a 5,000 square foot commissary kitchen
facility with a restaurant in Albuquerque's North Valley on historic 4th
Street. Our 4th Street location continues to produce most of the great foods
served at Dos Hermanos everyday. 2002 brought two new restaurants into the
Dos Hermanos family, making the total number of Dos Hermanos stores to four
located throughout enchanting Albuquerque, New Mexico.
